FOUR Individual Ceramic Delft Wall Tiles Hand Painted, 19th Century

About the Item

These are four attractive individual Delft ceramic wall tiles, dating to the second half of the 19th century. All tiles are nominally 5 inches square and 5/16 to 3/8 inches thick. Tile 1 - Top Left hand - Blue and White Hand painted in varying shades of cobalt blue, showing a waterside scene with a boat on the water with various buildings on the land all within a border pattern. Condition: Some edge nibbles and surface chipping to top right hand edge, otherwise good, as per the images. No cracks and No restoration. Tile 2- Top right hand - Blue and white hand painted with a harbour scene with boats and various houses, all within an octagonal cartouche with a good border pattern. Condition: Some edge chipping as per the images, otherwise good with no cracks or restoration. Tile 3 - Bottom Left - Religious scene. - Blue and white Hand painted scene by the side of the Nile marked Exodus 2, V 5, all within a double circle with spider corner motifs. Condition: Minor edge nibbling. Tile 4 - Lower Right - Galleon - Polychrome enamels This is hand decorated in coloured enamels with corner motifs. Condition : Fair - Edge chipping with lower right hand corner chip as per images - otherwise very good No cracks and no restoration. Please see individual tile images for best estimate of condition.
