Large Antique Hand-Carved Wooden Cherub Architectural Element or Wall Sculpture

About the Item

This large hand-carved wooden cherub is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from Germany and dating to approximately 1750 and done in the period Rococo style. The sculpture is composed of a softwood which has been hand-carved and joined in several places as a depiction of a cherub with gilt accents. The sculpture is in good period condition and has an eye hook on the back for mounting.
