About the Item

A Pair of Early 20th Century decorative bronze panels signed John Polachek Bronze & Iron Co. Inc. Long Island City NY. The John Polachek Bronze and Iron Company was founded in 1910 by John Polachek, a Hungarian immigrant. He started as a supervisor overseeing bronze manufacturing at the Tiffany Glass Studios in Corona, Queens New York, which served as the basis for his future enterprise in bronze fabrication. He saved and in 1912 he purchased a 1.75 acre site in Long Island City, Queens at 34–19 Tenth Street to start his own business. He grew the business it into one of the most important bronze fabricators in the field. Both panels have a slight curve shown in the photos and video. This is a great pair of bronze panels manufactured by one of the best bronze & iron manufacturers. Overall in good condition, one of the panels has a slight bend on the bottom, shown in the photos, great pieces.
