About the Item

19th Century Hand Painted Moorish Moroccan Antique Double Doors Extra large in size, scaling 12'+ in height, these double doors are antiques from the 19thC boasting with color and artwork. Each panel is decorated and painted by handmade wood carved moldings and painted by folk artisans. Created with multicolored geometric designs in deep muted tones of peach, aqua, gold. Color plays an important role with these patterns, the wood is painted deep Brown in hues of Brick Red or Chestnut Brown, Green-Blue Teal, Golden Rod Yellow, Peach - Deep Apricot, Antique White and Matte Black with all of these shades within. A complimentary color scheme that works well even into today fashion. The Moorish designs have been used in furniture and home decor for centuries decorating walls, ceilings and furniture used in palaces. Authentic real design creation with excellent patina and aged wooden panels and trims. Works well as functioning doors to informal passways, as well as wall art in single or double arrangements. Superior dimensional architectural panel design for traditional or as a reverence within contemporary and simple modern spaces. Also consideration for repurposing into furniture design and other cabinetry that requires custom install such as intended for barn doors. In excellent reclaimed condition, antiqued raw edges are authentic in wear due to real aging process over time. Beautiful hand-painted artwork encompasses geometric floral rosettes in the upper panes that mimic a stained glass effect and pattern. Hallowed arches on the left side with windows of meticulous scrolls and bouquets tiered within. Matching and alternating designs of vines, floral renditions encapsulated into formation, leaves on corners surrounded by hand cut moldings with painted borders. Old iron metal hardware remains in several areas, cut key holes, hinges, nails and loop knobs in place. Brass fitted panel overlays accent these doors. Both front and back of doors have hand painted designs. Rectangular in shape with mission style folk finials on the top end. Shown here as wall art opening into a hand painted scene (wall painting not included)
