Art Deco Architectural Scrolled Forged Wrought Iron Door

About the Item

A magnificent, period, custom, one of a kind, European Art Deco gated door frame from the early 20th century. The heavy, hand forged wrought iron architectural salvage masterpiece featuring sculptural spiral scroll, angular, geometric motif. The antique Art Deco building element, circa 1920, giving nods to Art Nouveau and Industrial Modernist taste. Retaining the original hinges, door handle on the interior side and lock with signed name plate on the exterior side. Reads: "Deffrennes & Fils" "Rue de la Montagne, Mouscron, Belgium" Beautiful, warm and rustic, patinated, heavy oxidation has given it a striking, elegantly dramatic patina. The location this gate originated in, Mouscron, Belgium, is directly on the France / Belgium border. A 5 minute drive into Roubaix or Tourcoing, France. This area was the epicenter of the Art Deco movement. Dimensions (approx): 62" H, 35.75" W, 2" D (not including door handle).
