19th Century Brass Fire Screen In The Rococco Design With Cherub Detail

About the Item

A gorgeous 19th Century polished brass fire screen in the Rococco design, fully restored and of fabulous quality. The protective wire mesh of shaped oval form is set within an intricately detailed reeded, fluted and pierced finely cast polished brass frame with stunning motifs comprising of trailing foliate, ruffles, flowerhead, cabochon, c and s-scroll detail throughout. Surmounted with an elegant pierced carrying handle with a further beautiful arrangement of cabochons, ruffles, scrolls and trailing foliate. The wire mesh itself is exquisitely adorned to the central reserve with a Neoclassical scene of a group of flying putti and quivers of arrows flying aloft the clouds, supported on graceful out-scrolling trestle foot.
