French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu Fireplace Screen
About the Item
A beautiful and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu fireplace screen. The screen is raised by four elegant scrolled feet with richly chased large acanthus leaves. The original central mesh is centered by a striking and finely detailed ormolu reserve of a family crest and rosette amidst graceful berried laurel branches with a charming top acorn finial. An exquisite berried laurel ormolu band extends along the mottled border with a scrolled handle at the top.
