Magnificent original fireplace presenter, chimney heating, grotesque 1870 France

About the Item

Wonderful pair of fireplace figurines, particularly rare design, made in France in the second half of the 19th century, around 1870. The aids to enable stylish heating are placed next to or in front of the fireplace in order to place the wood on it for heating so that it is always ready to hand. The shelves are made of iron and are therefore heat-resistant. The front parts of the fireplace side plates are made of bronze, with a grotesque sticking out the tongue. The eyes are free and therefore they shine when they stand in front of the fire in the fireplace and let the light through. Measurements each, approx.: height 15,16 in – 38,5 cm, width in 8,86 – 22,5 cm, depth 25,98 in – 66 cm. The shape of the two objects is wonderful and it is a very rare representation and execution. An original from the time, manufactured to a high quality and a highly decorative for any interior.
