18th Century Italian Macchia Vecchia Marble Fire Mantel

A stunning 18th century Italian Macchia Vecchia marble fireplace with a spectacular variety of natural marble colours and unique veining. Originating from Italy circa 1725, this antique fire surround is over 300 years old and has stood the test of time, with details including the central cartouche, scrolling corners and moulded edges still intact after three centuries. It is made from a beautiful variety of Macchia Vecchia marble, showcasing a multitude of cedar to cinnamon brown tones throughout, this variety known for its rich natural veining which varies from white and grey to seemingly golden tones. With a sweeping opening and ornate details, this antique Italian marble fireplace has an air of elegance, making a beautiful chimneypiece in interiors both modern and traditional alike.
