Antique English Carved Oak Fire Mantel

About the Item

An English Louis style carved oak fire mantel, reclaimed from a country house near Bedford. Dating to circa 1820, this antique fireplace is exceptionally ornate, crafted at the hand of a talented early 19th century artisan. With a serpentine mantle, carved foliage on the frieze and jambs carved as Herms, it would make a striking feature surround in any traditional setting.
