About the Item

A tall antique English Jacobean style fire surround dating from the Victorian era, constructed from earlier period components. This large scale, beautifully handcarved fireplace is an impressive chimneypiece for any period interior thanks to its size, grandeur and appealing warm wood colour. Crafted in oak, the mantel is most ornate, carved with an array of scrolling and arched panels evocative of the handsome grandeur of the 15th century Jacobean period.
