About the Item

A deep, large scale English solid oak antique fireplace dating from the 1880s. Re-finished, this spectacular fireplace has a rich patina throughout that looks impressive in a variety of period settings. The craftsmanship is a blend of Tudor, Gothic Revival and Victorian styling with an impressive fluted pattern mantel, ornately carved jambs and delicate carving to the frieze above an arched fireplace opening. Measures: opening height: 114.5 cm (45.07 inch) Opening width: 107 cm (42.12 inch) Across the footblocks: 154 cm (60.62 inch).
