A Louis XV style Rococo Chimneypiece in Rosso Antico Marble
About the Item
A Louis XV style Rococo chimneypiece in Rosso Antico marble with an elegant, moulded shelf. The fine asymmetric serpentine frieze presents a central cartouche in the shape of a stylised shell, flanked by foliage and panels. Shell corner blocks surmount jambs in the shape of foliage scrolls with bell flowers, terminating in acanthus leaves supported by bowed foot blocks.
