B. Altman N.Y. 1930s Three Panel Decoupage Room Screen w/ 18thc European Prints

About the Item

This classic large three paneled room screen features very detailed hand painted designs with 18th century decoupaged prints depicting a variety of historical scenes. The two side panels measure 12.5 inches each. The middle panel has a width of 29", and are held together by the original canvas strapping. The front has four images, the back displays two. " B. Altman and Company was a luxury department store and chain, founded in 1865 in New York City, New York, by Benjamin Altman. Its flagship store, the B. Altman and Company Building at Fifth Avenue and 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan, operated from 1906 until the company closed the store at the end of 1989."
