About the Item

19th Century French Louis XVI carved pedestal is the most exquisite way to display your prized sculpture, vase or objet d'art! Hand-crafted exclusively from old-growth quarter-sawn oak, it features an architecture inspired by the classic Greeks and Romans, and utilized by the great kings of France and other countries, most notably Louis XIV himself. The four-sided tapered column design is visibly enhanced with a flared then gracefully tapered top surface, with the border and carvings around three sides representing quatrefoils, fluting, rosettes, and graciously flowing ribbon. Distinctive molded detail provides the framework for the carved artistry, with the main shaft tapering down to a multiple-tiered molded base. Understated elegance at its finest! Circa 1880s Measures 41.5H x 18W x 18D. Available for pickup in the Dallas Design District, Dallas, Texas
