Chinese Qing Dynasty Carved Pedestal with Rose Marble Inset

About the Item

Chinese Qing dynasty carved rosewood pedestal with inset rose marble top. The elegant tall cabriole legs are connected by two cross stretchers, one near the top and one near the feet; having two cross stretchers increases the stability and strength of this visually delicate pedestal. The fine carving is of flowers, arched to increase the gracefulness of the pedestal and also so the cross stretcher is seen at the top as well as the bottom. This thirty six in high pedestal is suitable for a variety of purposes including as a plant stand, a pedestal for a wonderful piece of art work, or for a candelabra or other lighting. Circa 1900.
