French 19th century Belle Epoque Period Mahogany and Ormolu pedestal

About the Item

A stunning and most unique French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Epoque Period Mahogany and Ormolu pedestal. This beautiful pedestal is supported on squared topie shaped Mahogany legs with mottled Ormolu sabots and foliate decorated top caps which are below a circular stretcher. The circular stretcher is wonderfully decorated with a foliate Ormolu band and displays three scrolling Mahogany legs accented by Ormolu swaging berried laurel garlands hanging from rosettes and fluted designs with foliate chandelles. The top cap of each Mahogany legs showcases an additional Ormolu rosette which flanks the rounded apron. Above is a lovely Les Oves band that rest below the finished Mahogany display surface.
