French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Rouge Griotte Marble & Ormolu Pedestal Column
About the Item
A striking French 19th century Louis XVI st. Rouge Griotte marble and Ormolu pedestal column. The pedestal is raised by a square base below a mottled border, a superb mirrored Coeur-de-Rai designed Ormolu band, and a decorative additional support. The circular central column displays an impressive plinth with exceptional berried laurel Ormolu band with a mottled upper edge. Atop the body of the column is a striking Corinthian capital with exquisite foliate designs. Above the elaborate capital is the square display platform with a mottled lower border.
