French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Marble and Ormolu Pedestal

About the Item

An extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Fleur de Pêcher marble and Ormolu pedestal. This exquisitely decorative pedestal is raised on a square marble base with Ormolu feet and beaded borders, above and below pierced Ormolu mounts of cabochons and scrolled movements. A fluted Ormolu socle pedestal with a berried laurel wreath supports the central marble column. At the top is an Ormolu swaging garland and tassels below the impressive Ormolu top capital with acanthus leaves and a Les Oves border. Above is the thick Fleur de Pêcher marble display surface. All original gilt throughout.
