About the Item
Large fiberglass winged griffin or gryphon a legendary creature with a body, tail, and back legs of a lion, head and wings of an eagle and the eagles talons as its front feet. Because the lion was considered the king of the beasts and the eagle king of the birds by the middle ages, the Griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. Traditionally known for guarding treasures and possessions, griffins are also protectors from evil and stand for courage, leadership and strength. The original Griffin was made of a cast terracotta and stone from an estate in upstate New York . It is also available in pairs and a great piece for a garden or driveway entrance.
