An antique Italian Carrara marble trough sourced from a private UK collection. This impressive trough is expertly carved from a single block of Carrara marble. At over 270 years old, its sleek design remains complimented by its desirable time worn look, offering a glimpse into its history. Once used as a sink to prepare for grand dinners or parties in a stately home, this piece could now be used as a a water feature in period and contemporary gardens alike or perhaps even as a unique bathroom or kitchen sink.

    Good structural condition. Weathered finish. Minor surface cracks and natural floors. The inlet has been filled, drain and overflow are still present. It has a weathered surface finish on the inside and 3 outside edges. One also has a tooled finish.

This sink would make a lovely addition to a larger bathroom in a grand country home or townhouse. John Bolding John Bolding and Sons was established in 1822 by John Bolding. It began as a brass foundry merchants, but by 1871 the firm had evolved into the sanitary world. It began to develop an interest for “improvements in water closets and in valves and regulating apparatus for the same” as quoted in the London Gazette in 1871.
