Antique Spanish Large Terracotta Vessel from the Late 19th Century

About the Item

An antique Spanish large terracotta vessel from the late 19th century. This bulb-shaped vessel has thick round lips at the top opening followed by ribbed trimming around the perimeter of the exterior of the vessel. The base has a slight curve shape. These pots were used to store a variety of foods and drinks. Due to the nature of how these kinds of vessels were handcrafted it means that there are not two pots that are the same, instead each vessel has its own unique shape and organic form. This vessel was made by hand using traditional age-old techniques. The terracotta has a beautifully weathered patina. It would make a very decorative object in a home or garden. There are no cracks but the object is over a 100 years old so there are dents, scratches and slight chips. This is normal with an object of this age and due to its usage which would have caused this type of wear. Please view the photos as they form part of the condition report.
