19th Century French Polished Copper and Wrought Iron "Poissonniere" Fish Kettle
About the Item
This long antique, rectangular "Poissonniere" (or fish pot) was crafted in France, circa 1860. Made of copper with a large forged iron handle attached with rivets, this country kitchen essential could still be used for fish cooking. The pot kettle is in excellent condition, and adorns a rich, patinated polished finish. This sturdy, versatile, traditional piece could also be used as a decorative flower jardinière center piece, or simply displayed on top of kitchen cabinets.
