Centerpiece with an oval-shaped interior metal tray, with legs finished in volutes and an exterior decoration based on plant elements drawing curved lines and undulations, with openwork areas. Stylistically, it responds to Art Nouveau models. Victor Saglier (1809-1894) was a master goldsmith active in Paris, France, highly regarded for his Art Nouveau style work, creating pieces for Majorelle and Gallé. When he died, the company became Saglier Frères, run since then by his brothers Eguène and André, until the latter died in 1948. ·
