Stunning Antique Dutch Willem III. Nutwood & Ebonized Wood Tea Bucket 1850s

About the Item

Great condition and stunning design antique bucket. In the mid 19th century this handcrafted tea bucket would have been used for keeping ones tea kettle warm. On the bottom of the watertight brass bucket would have been a small burner and the tea kettle would be placed on top. This stylish and classy home accessory would have been owned by a very well to do family, living in a mansion or stately home. Because of the natural aging over a period of almost two centuries this rare bucket has grown THE most beautiful patina. The entirely handcrafted wooden bucket is built up of vertical slats of nutwood and their incredibly warm color combined with the ebonized ring patterns make this antique an absolute joy to own and look at. Finding one made our day, finding it in this clearly amazing condition was like the proverbial cherry on the pie. Although in the mid 1800's he was used for warming (and maybe even showing off) the tea kettle, nowadays one can use this stunning bucket for all kinds of other practical purposes. Besides that, this timeless antique obviously is extremely decorative as well. The original and also handcrafted brass handle makes it easy to move around and with the brass vessel being watertight this work of beauty can also be used as a planter or small wine cooler. If you enjoy the look and feel of this wonderful antique as much as we do then you will love our price. Especially, when taking into account that perfect packing and worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary. Maximum height (without the brass handle) x diameter: 13.2 x 12.2 inches. Maximum height including the brass handle: 19.7 inches. Diameter of the opening of the brass bucket: 10.4 inches. • Antique & Important Dutch Hindeloopen Hand Painted Folk Art Tea Bucket w. Liner
    Located in Lisse, NL
Handcrafted, rare and important 'tea bucket', early 1800s. For a museum quality, ultra rare and pure Dutch Folk Art antique from the early to mid 1800s there is always room in your home or collection. This marvelous and all handcrafted tea-bucket is also hand-painted and the antique decor all around could not be more Dutch (in general) and it could not be more pure Hindeloopen in particular. On the one side are the farmhouse with the adjacent hay barn, the trees and the windmill and on the other side are the typical Dutch, wooden flat bottom boats that many who have been to Holland must have seen and will never forget. Because of the paintings too this Hindeloopen antique is important, because the hand-painted scenes not only epitomize the 'soul and cultural history of Holland', the fertile land and the adjacent seas have also made it possible for us to transport our goods and do business all over the world from very early on. When this so called tea-bucket was hand-crafted some 200 years ago, Hindeloopen was a village on the coast...
