Large, organic sculpture carved from birch root, shaped as a bowl with a powerful and expressive form where the natural texture of the wood is preserved and integrated into its design. On one side, a detailed and characterful dog’s head is finely carved, with distinct features in both fur and facial expression. Signed T.S. on the base. Origin: Northern Sweden, likely mid-19th century or earlier.
