Anglo- Irish Regency Fine Cut Glass Covered Bowl on Stand

About the Item

From a private collection from a prestigious London residence, we are pleased to offer this exceptional Regency Anglo-Irish cut glass covered bowl with matching stand dating from the early 19th century. The cut glass bowl of wide rounded shape has a deep fold over rim with slice cut patterning with diamond, prism and slice cut designs to the body. A domed cover sits neatly within the top recess with similar cut patterning and with a central mushroom shaped finial with a star cut top. The bowl has a thick narrow round foot which fits neatly into a round stand with star cut base and roll over edge with diamond and prism cut patterning. The bowl, cover and stand are not marked. Provenance: Farm House, Farm Street, Mayfair, London, acquired through the UK Art Market. In good condition with customary age wear to the base and few minor nibbles but nothing of major consequence with wonderful brightness and quality.

Stunning and extremely rare Georgian Irish Heavy Gauge hand cut crystal fruit bowl or centerpiece of traditional outline, of outstanding quality and condition. Circa 1800 - 1825. The unusual fan-cut decorative rim above a deep cut diamond pattern all-round body with a single ring stem socle, ending on a circular base with star cut pattern underneath. Made in Ireland in either Waterford or Belfast. This piece is unmarked, early pieces were not usually. *This piece is over quarter of an inch in thickness allover. Condition: Good condition for such an early piece of rare Irish glass. No inside clouding, wonderful evidence of age wear at base underneath, few flea bites to top rim, difficult to see.
