Berndt Friberg - Browl Bowl

About the Item

Product Description: Berndt Friberg was one of the most influential ceramists in midcentury Sweden, his works are still popular world-wide and are known for their elegance and beatiful patinas. What is always striking to us is how light the objects Berndt Friberg produces are in contrast to the robustness they transfer through form and color. Berndt Friberg was influenced by Chinese ceramics from the Song dynasty (10th to 13th century). Searching for some of the ceramics made in that period online is definitely worth a try as striking similarities can be found both in form as in patina. Famous musea exhibit his work such as: MOMA, Metropolitan Museum and the National museum of Sweden. The bowl on offer here has a brown finish which turns yellow on the edges. The bowl has a funnel shape with the edges on top being curved. The form of the item is pleasing the eye. I suggest to display the item in a showcase or to let it rest on a floating shelve. Product Condition: The product is in good condition, there are some irregularites however. There are some small pinhole-shaped irregularities visible on the inside and outside of the bowl which resulted from the manufacturing process (visible on one of the pictures). Also, on the edge on top of the bowl there is a flaw (visible on pictures 7 and 8). It is not clear whether the flaw is a chip or spot that missed glazing in the manufacturing process. Weight: 160g Width top (max): 13.5cm Width top (min): 11.5cm Height: 7cm Bottom (foot) width: 3.5cm.

Suku Park - Porcelain Bowl
Located in MAASTRICHT, LI
Product description: This bowl, designed by Korean artist Suku Park, is made with very fine, thin porcelain. The porceiain is thin enough such that when you shine light on it some of it will pass through the material. The raised edges of the bowl are perforated (by design) giving the otherwise clean item a little organic touch. I would like to recommend to display the item on its own in a room with minimalist design. The designer Suku Park was born in 1947 in Seoul, Korea and moved to Sweden in 1974 where he graduated from the Swedish State School...
