About the Item
A finely carved compote with a deep overhanging rim with grape clusters on the serpentine vine. Triple swirled dolphins with articulated curved tails form the support raised on a triangular base. Likely Italian.
Dimensions; 11 1/4" high x 11" diameter
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and use include some stable cracks to the bowl, losses to two sections of the rim vine, there is a stable crack into the base with a tiny chip on the bottom edge. Despite the losses and wear the compote retains an elegant presentation.
