Ceramic miniature bowl known as "ARU" by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand, Sweden

About the Item

A stunning hand-made vintage miniature stoneware pottery bowl with a classic design known as "ARU" design by very talented Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand. What makes this bowl very special is that even though very simple design it has the most elegant and sophisticated appearance. This is very much due to the craftsmanship needed to be able to produce such delicate and thin ceramic, it has nearly a see-translucent effect. This together with the incredible glazing which is in a harpsichord glaze technique with a warm brown outside and a pale honey color on the inside, makes is resemble an eggshell. All in all, a stunning and elegant bowl, a piece of art, which has a modern feel to it. It is signed and marked. The price includes free shipping. It is 5cm (1.96") high, 8cm (3.14") wide and 10cm (3.93") long and in a excellent condition. Rörstrand Rörstrand porcelain was one of the most famous Swedish porcelain manufacturers, with production initially at Karlbergskanalen in Stockholm, Sweden. Formed as a company in 1726, Rörstrand soon became the number one of the nation's largest ceramic factories. They have over the years manufactured and produced many well-known items and managed to be one of the most famous brands in the world, when it comes to both esthetically as well as functional ceramics goods. Very much due to some of their famous designers such as Hertha Bengtsson, Gunnar Nylynd, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Marianne Westman, Bertil Wallien, Olle Alberius, Inger Persson and Ulla Procopé. During the 1960s and 70s Stig Lindberg and Lisa Larsson created some timeless art ceramic interior design objects in forms of art objects, figures and vases, highly appreciated still all over the world, generating them a special status in the lovers of modern Scandinavian design.
