Large American China Co. Bowl with Grape and Vine Decoration & Gilt Accents
About the Item
This very large antique bowl was made by the American China Company of the United States and dates to approximately 1880 and done in a period Victorian style. The bowl is ceramic, or semi-porcelain as marked on the base, and is glazed with a cream ground with a vibrant cobalt grape and vine decoration around the inner top rim. The bowl is accented with gilt around the top of the scalloped edges and a scrolled decoration around the outer side with bordering on the pedestal base. The bowl is clearly signed with the maker's mark for the American China Co. on the bottom.
