Olof Oskar Hult was a Swedish architect mostly known for his austere buildings influenced by the Rationalist movement. After graduating at the Royal Institute of Technology, he started his career in 1919, working for Lars Israel Wahlman, the architect who designed some outstanding landmark mansions. In 1925, Hult joined another architectural firm working on industrial projects, including some factories and warehouses defined by his strong rationalist approach. There was, however, a more decorative side to be found in his work as interior designer, specifically in some shops and restaurants he authored in the 1940s. The furniture pieces he designed are now much appreciated by collectors. About us: We specialise in fine works of original twentieth-century design with specific focus on Scandinavian design from the period 1930 to 1960. We procure items that have a history and/or have a particular aesthetic from the period. Our collection represents some of the finest examples of craftsmanship, architecture, and high-grade design by the most renowned Scandinavian 20th Century designers including Hans J. Wegner, Arne Vodder, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Poul Henningsen, Alvar Aalto, Paavo Tynell, Estrid Ericson, Poul Kjærholm, Mogens Lassen and Josef Frank. We are extraordinarily passionate about Kaare Klint and have over the years gained a significant knowledge of his craftmanship and have included many beautiful Kaare Klint pieces in our inventory. We have a long history of working with international galleries, interior architects and private collectors.
