About the Item
Primitive clay cooking bowl from Los Reyes Metzontla, Mexico. This vintage vessel is hand-sculpted, created and used circa 1950-1969 by the indigenous population of the isolated Mexican highlands of Puebla (Zapotitlán). Exhibiting a nice rich patina, this vernacular ceramic bears evidence across its surface of use in hearth-style cooking.
