Venetian Murano Blue Gold Flecks Pegasus Italian Art Glass Centerpiece Bowl
About the Item
Antique early Venetian Murano hand blown transparent sapphire blue with gold accents Italian art glass Pegasus horse compote bowl. Attributed to the Artisti Barovier / Fratelli Toso companies, as published in the book "Venetian Glass - Confections in Glass 1855-1914" (see last photos), circa 1895-1914. The piece has the Pegasus head on one side of the bowl, with its wings stretched out. It is made in clear glass and profusely covered in gold leaf. The ruffle rim of the bowl also has gold leaf along the edge. The base is made with a flared out applied foot. Very rare piece. Would make a great display piece on any console table, credenza or mantel. Collectors item! Measures 11 1/2" long x 7 3/4" wide x 7 3/4" tall.
