About the Item

Beautiful Qianlong period "Leaping Pekinese" dish of larger size.⁠ ⁠ This design, known as The Leaping Pekinese or The Pekinese and the Parrots, displays close similarities to those drawn by the Dutch draughtsman Cornelis Pronk (1691–1759). The dishes are enameled in blue with central leaping Pekingese surrounded by panels depicting a parrot, a cockatoo, a pair of doves, and a flying crane.
