Carol Lahy Fused Art Glass Decorative Square Vide-Poche or Ashtray, Signed

About the Item

Fused glass square vide-poche or ashtray has wide rim of deep amethyst purple color and complex central bowl with checkered pattern in the center, encircled by a blue band. All areas of solid color glass have controlled bubbles effect, adding to the texture and complexity of the piece. Checkered pattern in the center is composed of solid emerald green and rainbow-colored murine squares. The piece is signed and dated by the artist on the underside of the rim. Carol Lahy is a glass artist working in Florida, USA; she is renowned for her fused glass pieces and stained glass panels.

Vintage glass bowl in biomorphic shape was created by Rick and Janet Nickolson in 1992; it features a pair of abstract patterns in pink, cream, and white glass fused on thin, almost transparent green glass background.
