Large Italian marble vide-poche / inkstand. Rich red and buttery gold Sicilian marble calamaio/inkwell in a very clean and modern Louis XVI form with three wells and further shallow wells for writing implements and accessories. A very rare extremely sculptural period piece, perfect for Father's Day gift for the one with the big desk. Italy, circa 1790.
