Coppia di piccoli piatti da appoggio in ceramica dipinta a mano, produzione ND DIOLFI di Montelupo. Gli oggetti qui proposti sono stati realizzati nella seconda metà degli anni '90, rappresentano uno dei più famosi decori delle ceramiche di Montelupo, quello degli "Arlecchini". L'ambiente: Situata nel cuore dalla Toscana, vicino a Firenze, Montelupo ha una storia legata in modo indissoluibile alla lavorazione artistica della ceramica, ed è da secoli riconosciuta come centro produttivo di rilievo nell'area fiorentina. La Storia: Nel ‘300 iniziarono le prime produzioni ed in breve, con il sorgere di nuove fornaci, la produzione artistica acquisì grande fama, prima Italia poi nel Mediterraneo e nel Nuovo Mondo. La Tradizione: La decorazione "Arlecchini" (che viene raffigurata negli oggetti qui proposti) andò ad identificare per buona parte del '600 la produzione di Montelupo. Era caratterizzata da rappresentazioni, su fondo giallo, di personaggi e figure del tempo dipinti in modo ironico, quasi caricaturale, identificativo della cultura popolare. Oggi: Nel Museo della ceramica di Montelupo, sono raccolti su tre piani oltre 3000 pezzi databili tra la fine del XIII secolo fino a tutto il XVIII secolo, si può affermare che viene conservata la storia del territorio. La tradizione della Ceramica, però, è oggi viva e continua. Percorrere "La Strada della Ceramica" porterà a conoscere aziende produttrici che hanno saputo interpretare ed integrare ad alti livelli tradizione con innovazione.
