Specola plate, designed by Zanelalto/Bortotto, fire enamel on copper tecnique.

About the Item

Decorative plate made of enameled copper, a complex decorative technique that involves subjecting a copper object covered with glass powders to firing at a very high temperature, a process that ensures surprising coloration and brilliance. The technique was made great by some Italian masters, such as Paolo de Poli, a craftsman active in Padua in the second half of the 20th century. Because of this, and because of the allusion to the celestial bodies in the decoration, the name recalls the Paduan Specola. The plates were created by Incalmi in collaboration with Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto.
