Two shallow dishes glazed in warm yellow and brown tones with subtle variations on the surface, highlighting the simple, functional form. The low profile makes the dishes suitable for both serving and decorative purposes. Signed on the underside. Period: 1930s Material: Earthenware In excellent condition Dimensions: D. 26,5 cm. A fine example of Hammershøi’s collaboration with Kähler, where functionality and glazing work come together in perfect harmony. Kähler Keramik was founded in Næstved in 1839 and is renowned for its fine craftsmanship, artistic decorations, and collaborations with many of Denmark’s most celebrated ceramic artists. The workshop played a central role in Danish studio pottery throughout the 20th century. Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish painter and ceramic artist who worked for Kähler from the early 20th century. He is known for his distinctive forms, often with strong profiles and striking glazes, and his works are today highly sought-after collector’s items.
