About the Item
Product description:
The Zaalberg company saw its light on the first of May in 1918 in Zoeterwoude just to the south of Leiden. The family company, older than 100 years, is still operational and is run by Herman Zaalberg (third generation). This robust piece with abstract painting on it has probably been produced in the sixties. The plate has been produced in sgraffito style. The artist who produced this plate is probably Meindert Zaalberg, the father of the current owner of the factory. My recommendation for display would be to put it somewher on its own in a tilted way to reveal the interesting pattern on the plate.
