18th Century French Fariniere or Decorative Box

About the Item

An exquisitely carved Fariniere or flour box from Provence. Decorated with carved fish and flower swags, this fariniere features a lower inset panel with swags and tassels and a pierced top. Made from walnut, with blind dovetail construction. Some restorations to carvings. Please refer to photos for more details.
