19th Century English Mahogany Campaign Travel Lap Desk

19th century English campaign travel lap desk. Rectangular form constructed out of mahogany with corner and banded brass accenting. Central inlaid brass crest. Top lifts open to reveal a velvet lined top that folds down to reveal a folio folder. The base with a removable tray containing four spaces with a covered pigeon hole to the left flanked by two open. Tray lifts up to reveal three divided storage slots. Working locking mechanism with key included. Originally purchased on the Isle of Wight, England. In good condition with some minor scattered checking, some slight finish loss to the top and expected acceptable wear to interior velvet and slight areas of color loss to the interior red leather. Measures: 5 1/2" H x 12 3/4" W x 9" D.
