This lovely fine old box was made in India or Asia as a trade item designed specifically for exportation to the English Colonial trade. Crafted between 1815 and 1840 in a time honoured form. The box is made of sandalwood veneered in horn that has been carefully cut and placed with horn pins. The decorative reserved areas are filled with quills and bone details.
