19th Century Perfume Box - Napoleon III - Crystal Bottles

About the Item

A beautiful antique marquetry wooden box for perfume. The box dates from the French Napoleon III period, circa 1880-1890. The box features those original crystal perfume bottles, beautifully decorated with gold-colored accents. The whole is in good condition with two points of attention: a restoration of the inlay of the box, on the lid at the top right. This piece of wood, which was inlaid later, is slightly darker in color, but nicely done and not very striking. The crystal bottles still look beautiful, no chips or hairlines, only the stopper of 1 bottle is damaged at the bottom. These are two minor damages, which are acceptable in themselves, complete small perfume boxes from this period are not often found.
