Late 19th Century French Wood Veneer Marquetry Tea Caddy
About the Item
An antique French tea caddy in Napoleon III style. The box is made of veneer beechwood, with beautiful grain. The lid is in slayed with lighter maple wood. At the center wood inlanders of Thé (French for Tea). Inside two compartments made of Birdseye maple wood. And a silver colored foil, for keeping the tea dry. The tea caddy is in good condition. Without key. Overall it has a nice old patina. Made in France around 1880-1890.
