19th Century Victorian Era Black Forest Liquor Tantalus with Glasses & Decanters

Large and museum quality hand-carved walnut wood, Victorian Era, Black Forest art, liquor tantalus. This magnificent Black Forest drinks box, dates from circa 1880. The beautiful glasses and decanters may be of a later date, bute they go really well with the style of this impressively handcarved drinks box. The carving is of superb quality and this eye catcher and talking piece has a great patina. This fine-art tantalus from the Swiss Black Forest has stunning etched windows, hand-engraved glasses and bottles and a superb condition tray, but what makes it extra rare is the perfectly hand-carved hunting dog on top. That dogs body posture (he or she is in full hunting mode) and details can only be the work of a master carved and we are proud to be able to offer this remarkable antique in such great condition. This naturalistic artistry wood work tantalus is carved on all sides so you can also put it in the centre of a dining table or on a large desk. The hand-engraved glassware consists of 15 pieces in total and they nestle perfectly in the beautifully designed and also very well carved, removable caddy/tray.
