Antique Hand Painted Jeweled French Sevres Type Cobalt Blue Porcelain Table Box

About the Item

A very fine antique Sevres style French porcelain dresser box or casket. With extensive gilt highlights and turquoise, red & white enamel jeweling throughout. Decorated to the lid with a finely hand painted scene of a man playing the lute for a his lover, children, and dogs. There is a Sevres type mark to the base. The bronze mount has been apparently re-secured with a second adhesive (at some time in the past). All in all, simply a top shelf French porcelain casket! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The bronze mount has been resecured with a second adhesive that has oxidized to an orange color. Otherwise, there are some light scratches throughout, some losses to some of the enameling and jeweling here and there, and some rubbing to the gold throughout, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Marked to the base with a Sevres type mark. Measurements: Length: ca. 9 1/4 in. Depth: ca. 5 1/8 in. Height: ca. 3 1/4 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you.
