An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver and enamel vesta case; an addition to our range of collectable silver cases
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver vesta case has a plain rectangular form.
The plain body of the vesta case is ornamented with an impressive arched hot enamel panel depicting a group of hunting hounds.
This antique vesta case is fitted with a plain hinged cover to one end and has a serrated panel/match striker to the other.
The posterior surface and sides of this impressive Victorian silver vesta case is plain and unembellished.
Such examples, made by the renowned silversmiths Sampson Mordan & Co, are rare to the market.
Condition
This Victorian dog vesta case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The enamel panel is in perfect condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the side of the case and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique Victorian silverware.
