About the Item
French wood box decorated with marquetry including a stars and geometrical patterns.
Straw marquetry was a common technique in the early 20th century. Straw was dyed different colors to create rich patterns.
Once varnished, the dyed straw created a wide variety of shades and reflections.
Made circa 1900.
Good condition.
